PIANO TUNING DEFINITION
Piano tuning is the aligning of the musical pitch of the various notes of the piano, by
adjusting the tension of the piano's strings, in order to achieve a desired musical effect. Preferences in desired musical effects and methods in achieving those preferences will vary. Piano "tuning" does not involve the functioning of a piano's key mechanism. (The "tune-up" of an automobile engine may involve keeping machinery running smoothly, but piano "tuning" by itself does not.)
In 2007, this piano had been in the family for many years. The present holders wanted to make it into a digital piano. The lovely French design of the case made it a worthy endeavor. The soundboard was kept intact and the speaker cabinet was coupled to it adding another demension to the speaker sound. All aspects of the digital were incorporated into the piano case including: lights, inputs and outputs, pedal functions and headphone connections. No piano tuners needed now.
