At the turn of the 20th century and into the 20's and 30's, the upright piano in it's many forms was the centerpiece of many homes. It was the equivilent of the Television today, providing families with hours of entertainment and musical education. Restoring one of the "good" pianos from this time period will give you a sense of it's popularity including the beautiful cases and wonderful tone quality.
